Oltco were asked to design and plan the driveway area for Mr Nyman. Tom visited the customer and went through their plans and discussed possible options to help with drainage problems. Mr Nyman also wanted to increase the turning area of his driveway so Tom suggested re configuring a wall which would create a larger turning circle.
During this project Oltco created a hump at the entrance to the drive to minimise the rain water from flowing onto the drive. We installed a channel drain which connected with the existing manhole cover and we broke up the area around the existing drain to allow the water to drain away easier.
Oltco completely prepped the surface, which involved digging out the existing soil, installing hardcore which was then compacted. A final layer of concrete was then installed before the surface was finished off with our Cornish Granite resin bound gravel surface, which was laid at 20mm. We also infilled 2 manhole covers to give the driveway a seamless finish.
Mr Nyman was very happy with his new driveway and larger turning circle and was even happier that we had managed to help overcome the drainage issues that he was having.
