Project: Tolvadden Fire Station
Product: Self smoothing polyurethane floor
Cornwall Fire Service contacted Oltco as they needed a durable, hard-wearing and easy to clean floor surface for their new community fire station that was being built in Tolvadden.
The person responsible looked at many different floor options but with help from our technical director they decided on a Resuthane Self Levelling Screed in Stirling. This would give the fire service a floor surface that would be trouble free and maintenance free for many years.
It was a privilege to be able to carry out work for the Cornwall Fire Service.
Job information: A smooth continuous floor system required which is hard-wearing, easy to clean and has good chemical resistance.
Technical Info: Entire floor is shot blasted and diamond ground then checked for expansion joints, bolt holes and other indentations which are then filled by hand and finished to smooth. Primer applied to entire floor followed by a colour self smoothing water based seamless polyurethane resin floor to between 3mm and 5mm thickness. A water based coloured topcoat applied to the top to create a matt finish.
Client Feedback: ‘Thanks for arranging the works we are all really pleased with the finish and outcome.’ Liam Baker, Premises Co-ordinator, Cornwall Fire and Rescue
