As a way to celebrate our 15th anniversary, we have been on a mission to complete 15 Random Acts of Kindness across 12 months to the general public to help spread happiness across the country.
We are really proud of our team who have already completed seven random acts of kindness up and down the UK. To find out more about the campaign and what we’ve been up to so far, please click here.
For our seventh random act of kindness, Adam Smith, the Head of our Derby team and his wife Jenna Smith, completed a Random Act of Kindness by joining local charity, Sustrans, on a litter picking mission on a popular cycle track in Derby.
Sustrans’ mission is to make it easier for people to walk and cycle. The work the charity is doing is creating healthier places and happier people. In the last year alone the charity has achieved some amazing milestones which have included: delivering 203 miles of walking and cycling routes and 3.8 million journeys to school by foot or wheel!
As a business that focuses on transforming outside spaces, Adam and Jenna were passionate about helping Sustrans on its mission
Adam comments: “We met some great people and cleared several bags worth of rubbish on our litter pick with Sustrans. We definitely want to get involved more.
Both Oltco and Sustrans align in missions, from climate change and air pollution, we are all trying to create a more sustainable environment. Our innovative product Recycle Bound has enabled us to use the equivalent of over 22 million plastic straws in driveways, paths and patios across the UK.”
Adam understands and is totally in line with our ethos “to feel good about the work we do and the decisions we make” and we are so delighted to have him on board spreading kindness across the Derby area.
