This year, we are celebrating 15 amazing years in business installing resin bound driveways, patios, pathways, pool surrounds and car parks. To mark the anniversary, we wanted to give back to our local communities and to do this, have committed to carrying out 15 random acts of kindness throughout 2019.
Since the start of the year, we have been spreading the kindness across the UK. Most recently, this was an act from Nick Evans who heads up Oltco Northwich, Cheshire.
The inspiration for Nick’s random act of kindness came from his desire to get closer to his local community in Cheshire, whilst also giving back and helping others. With a passion for caring for the environment, when Nick came across the Middlewich Clean Team, who have the motto “Love your town, keep it tidy.” he knew it was an organisation he wanted to be involved with.
Established 16 years ago in 2003, the Middlewich Clean Team has now grown to have an impressive 200 local volunteers who volunteer their time twice a month to keep the town clean.
Nick, and his wife, have committed to spending at least one hour per month volunteering with the organisation and have already supported five of the organised cleans, most recently on Saturday 12 October. During these cleans, the pair have already filled at least 15 bin bags of rubbish!
Over the next couple of months, Middlewich Clean Team will be hosting a number of litter picking groups, which Nick will be attending including Saturday 9 November at Turnpike and Saturday 7 December at Middlewich Leisure Centre.
Nick says: “Oltco’s passion for the environment with the Recycle Bound product, and its commitment to caring for the local community, were two things that initially attracted me to join the Oltco team. For me, the Middlewich Clean Team and the regular litter picks are the perfect way to combine these two passions whilst also being in line with Oltco’s ethos to feel good about the work we do and the decisions we make.
I think the Random Acts of Kindness campaign that Oltco has committed to is fantastic and I am delighted to be a part of this…roll on the next 15 years!”
If you have some time spare and live in the local area, why not join the team and get to know Nick over some litter picking?
