Oltco Celebrates International Women’s Day 2023

Today is International Women’s Day and we are celebrating all of the incredible women in our Oltco family.

This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity which aims to get the world talking about why equal opportunities aren’t enough and how true inclusion requires equitable action.

In the construction industry, only 14% of the workforce are female, this is a shocking statistic and one that we are working hard to beat. From working hard behind the scenes at Oltco HQ to leading our franchise areas, all of the ladies here at Oltco are outstanding!

Our Oltco ladies

At the heart of Oltco is Christine Stringer, who founded Oltco alongside her husband and son in 2004. Over the years, the number of women in the business has grown.

Heading up Oltco HQ is Christine’s daughter, Corinna Dowen, who goes above and beyond day to day. Joining Corinna in the HQ team are some incredible women: her daughter Rosie Dowen, Laina Ferris, Tash Eldon, Diane Jones and Tegan Mitchelmore.

Throughout our network we have some fantastic women leading the way – Raj Mondair joined Oltco as our first female franchisee in 2021 and heads up Oltco Peterborough and Oltco Stevenage. Joining Raj is Megan Dorian from Oltco Colchester and Oltco Ipswich, Lorna Rainer from Oltco Luton, Harpenden & Welwyn, Zoe Hornby from Oltco Wolverhampton and Harriet Wright from Oltco Cheltenham and Oltco Gloucester is our first female to work on an install team.

We are super proud of all of the females who make up our Oltco team and we are so excited to continue to welcome more women to our team in 2023.
