Oltco Durham & Sunderland gave the entrance to the historic Durham Crown Court House a facelift with a 68m2 Recycle Bound entrance in the colour blend, Crantock.
Overview
The Brief
Facilities manager, Enertech, was responsible for delivering a sensitive refurbishment of the landmark Grade I listed Durham Crown Court building located in Durham City.
The surface that needed updating was the perron area at the top of the grand entrance steps. The perron has been in existence for many years and had an old resin bonded surface that had been worn and re-patched and repaired with varying levels of success over the years. It was no longer looking good or fitting with this most majestic of buildings, therefore it was time for a full replacement.
The base was a very old concrete pad which is thought to be up to 200 years’ old and as such the surface is somewhat worn and pitted. A full remediation of the base was required with a new surface finish in a material to match the imposing sandstone facade.
