What is recycle bound?
Developed to be even stronger than other resin solutions, Recycle Bound has a higher tensile strength and can hold more weight. In fact, it is the strongest system Oltco has ever tested. Oltco’s Recycle Bound solution has the same 20 year guarantee that our other resin bound solutions have and has been thoroughly tried and tested by our expert team.
Recycle Bound offers all of the same benefits as Oltco’s other solutions including permeable properties, which therefore makes it SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage System) compliant. In addition to this, the melting point of the solution is 250°C meaning that even if the UK has another heatwave, the plastic will not melt in the same way as some alternatives, such as tarmac.

Innovated by and exclusive to Oltco, Recycle Bound is a resin bound solution that is made using a mix of stone and aggregates as well as recycled waste plastic. Developed in house by our team of technical experts, Recycle Bound is a world first and the waste plastic that is used in the product is obtained from a plastic recycling point. Recycle Bound surfaces feature a combination of plastic drink bottles, food packaging and straws, producing innovative plastic driveways.
We are the first company to offer this innovative, environmentally sustainable solution, which is suitable for a range of outdoor environments including driveways, car parks, footpaths, patios and courtyards.

As a business, we have a passion for innovation and a desire to offer superior and premium products. It is this passion and determination that drove us to design this innovative solution that will have a positive effect on the environment.
Each square metre of Recycle Bound consists of the equivalent of 3,000 plastic straws. Therefore if Recycle Bound was laid on a standard 50 square metre drive, the equivalent of 150,000 plastic straws would be recycled in the process.

Recycle Bound is Award Winning
Recycle Bound is now officially an award-winning product. On Thursday 27 June, we celebrated a night of success after being awarded with Product of the Year at the Cornwall Business Awards and also being announced as the runner up in the National Recycling Awards – both for our innovative, world-first product Recycle Bound.
What happens at the end of it's life?
When Recycle Bound reaches the end of its life and it’s time for a new surface, we can use it to create our Recycle Base. Recycle Base is a ground reinforcement system which utilises stone and low-grade plastic, including waste ocean plastic. We can rework your surface waste into our formula, lay it down as the base and then install a fresh Recycle Bound layer on the top, so no waste is created during your upgrade.
